The mission of 9Health Fair is to promote health awareness and to encourage individuals to assume responsibility for their own health.

Each year 91,000 Colorado residents take responsibility for their health by attending a 9Health Fair. Your contributions provide participants with free and low-cost health screenings and education at 155 sites across the state. Through 9Health Fair’s free In the Classroom program an additional 26,000 K – 12 children are reached with age-appropriate health education.

Did you know 9Health Fair has two programs, In the Community and In the Classroom?

WHAT IN THE COMMUNITY PARTICIPANTS SAY

The following are samples of literally hundreds of testimonials received every year.

“Because my husband has belonged to the Lions Club it was easy to get our blood tests done. Normally my husband would never go to the doctor, he dislikes them so. One day I went to hug him and realized there was no nice round shoulder – it felt like basic bone. We made an appointment with his doctor right away. With the help of the 9Health Fair blood tests of previous years the doctor was able to begin treating him right away for thyroid and blood disorders. We can’t say enough good things about 9Health Fair. Thank you!”
S.M., attendee

“This morning I went to a 9Health Fair at Wheatridge Lutheran Church. I was so impressed at how organized it was. The parking lot was full and streets all around too. There were volunteers to guide me in the right direction – lots and very capable. I left home around 9:00 AM, signed, paid, had my blood drawn and ran into a couple of friends. The room where they drew my blood had about 20 taking blood, and all busy. I was third in line and I was all through by 9:35. I just want to say thanks for how much you have done for me.”
J.S., attendee.

“Doing well. Blood pressure and fibrillation under control. Am getting checked periodically now and appreciate the opportunity you gave me for the blood tests.” M.S., attendee. “Haven’t missed a year in over 20 years. Found out I had high cholesterol and high blood sugar and I always take copies of my 9Health reports to my cardiologist. And family doctor. They’re pleased. “
R.M., attendee.

WHAT IN THE CLASSROOM PARTICIPANTS SAY

“Thank you for your help again this year, our third health fair. We had 65 stations that served 50 community members and 800 Polar Bears. The students went home with plenty of “healthy” information. We plan on doing it again.”
Health Teacher, Aurora Public Schools

“We really appreciate you helping us with the supplies and helping us understand how to run the booths! We became very confident and accomplished what we wanted to do. We all had a wonderful time at the health fair. Thank you a lot.”
Students, The Academy at High Point

“Also, because you have done the 9Health Fair we have been more responsible and I would like to thank you for making it happen and because of that you put a smile on everybody and everybody had a good time. 9Health Fair around the world, OK?”
Student, Breckenridge Elementary School

“Thank you for all the responsibility you had to go through. You directed the best 9Health Fair ever. I think it was so good you should open it world-wide. Also, it was so educational for the little kids. I want to thank you again for all the experience and making it happen.”
Student, Southern Ute Indian Academy

9Health Fair speaks to the power of volunteers.
Volunteers have always made up the heart, brains and muscle of everything we do. This year we estimate that volunteers contributed nearly $3 million of effort as district coordinators, site coordinators, medical and non-medical screeners, cashiers, traffic controllers, clerics, administrative helpers, receptionists, technicians, janitors, re-cyclers, publicists… You name it, a volunteer probably did it. “Working together we really do make a difference.”
